Workshop | Building a Culture that Works

In this session, participants will learn about a set of Core Values/Agreements that is essential to building an organizational culture that truly centers diversity, equity and inclusion. The presenter will support participants to define the Core Values/Agreements in connection to their commitment to DEI and their organizational mission. Participants will also build an understanding of what is required to integrate these Core Values/Agreements into both culture and operations, the barriers that may arise when doing so, and how to effectively navigate those barriers in order to build a more equitable and inclusive workplace culture.

She/Her

As a Senior Racial Equity Facilitator and Consultant at the Center for Equity and Inclusion, Ann Nguyen supports teams and their leaders to generate will, commitment, and hope to create organizational culture, systems, and spaces where BIPOC can really be themselves and thrive. This happens through learning and unlearning, strategy and capacity-building, and shifting and recreating systems and structures. At the core of all of this is relationships. Relationships are powerful - Ann works with teams, leaders, and organizations to build and nurture the kind of relationships that actualize both incremental and lasting change. By centering racial equity, possibility opens up: possibility of dismantling racist systems and ways of being, possibility of creating more efficient and effective solutions, and possibility of transforming who we become. Ann works to generate and advance teams and leaders toward stewarding this possibility.
